Once again, Voices is releasing a series of Issue/Policy Briefs that provide an in-depth look at a variety of children's issues.
We are kicking off 2017 with an exploration of children's behavioral health in Ohio and a variety of initiatives aimed at addressing the rise of behavioral health concerns among adolescents.
The brief explores the prevalence of mental health and substance use disorders; their impact on families; and Ohio’s responses—particularly, the Behavioral Health Redesign, which will align the behavioral health system with the healthcare industry; along with other policy recommendations. Children’s behavioral health is a public health issue and must be at the forefront as Ohio considers health care policies, funding initiatives, and the well-being of our children. As we continue to shine a light on behavioral health awareness and what can be done to help children become healthy adults, we address the needs of more youth and help them conquer the challenges they meet on a day-to-day basis.
