Voices is very pleased to announce that our long-time consultant, Thomas Scheid, has been appointed by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) as a member of its Advisory Panel on Patient Engagement.
Tom will join other members of the panel in applying his experience and expertise to helping PCORI refine and prioritize research funding priorities and ensure that the research PCORI supports centers on the outcomes that matter to patients and other healthcare decision makers. PCORI is an independent, non-profit organization authorized by Congress to fund research that provide patients, their caregivers, and clinicians with evidence-based information needed to make better informed healthcare decisions.
Tom's current work with Voices is serving as the Principal Investigator for a Voices subcontract on the PCORI-funded study, Improving Care Coordination for Children with Disabilities through an Accountable Care Organization. In this role, he is managing the Patient Advisory Panel that has been providing patient perspectives to the design and implementation of the research study.
