Today, Ohio’s children need your support, and your voice.
The Continuing Resolution (CR) introduced in the Senate, yesterday, includes a five-year reauthorization of the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) program at level funding of $400 million annually. The Senate and House are expected to vote today.
We are pleased to see MIECHV’s reauthorization included in the Senate CR but we have a long way to go before the CR is enacted into law.
We urge you to continue to reach out to your members of Congress in the House of Representatives and the Senate. Please tell them:
We strongly support the Senate Continuing Resolution which renews the bipartisan MIECHV program for 5 years at level-funding.
MIECHV expired more than 120 days ago. Without reauthorization, programs could be forced to turn away new children and families, lose employees and will ultimately close their doors.
Please vote in favor of the Senate Continuing Resolution so that children and families will continue to receive home visiting services.
You can look up your Senators and your Representative here. It’s also important to make calls to leadership in both the House and Senate. And you can look here for their Twitter handles of your Senators and Representative.
With your support, we can reach our goal of reauthorizing MIECHV, but we need your calls, emails, and posts on social media to make this happen.
